Finch’s 5-a-side charity football tournament raises nearly £3k for Cornerstone Day Centre

Insurers, clients and solicitors joined Finch in a charity fundraiser which raised nearly £3,000 for their Charity of the Year, Cornerstone Day Centre, who also entered a team.

16 teams battled it out in a lively and exciting competition culminating in a nail biting final.

Allianz were the overall winners, beating Clyde & Co with 2 goals in the last 3 minutes, and Cornerstone themselves made it to the semi final!

Ged Smith, Finch’s Cornerstone ambassador, commented, ‘It was a brilliant event. Allianz were the deserved victors, overcoming some strong opposition.  The tournament had everything from penalty shoot outs to last minute winners, and all the games were played in good spirit. We raised a significant amount of money for a very worthwhile charity but perhaps even more importantly  was the fact that we were able to introduce the Manchester professional community to the world and people of Cornerstone. We are proud to support them.’

Cornerstone Day Centre provides services to vulnerable and disadvantaged adults facing a wide range of social issues including homelessness, poverty, social isolation, poor mental health, drug and alcohol addiction. They welcome people from all backgrounds, and aim to offer support to their clients, improve their prospects and enhance their quality of life.
